Scientific medical research in Armenia is still in its infancy. Developing such research will help provide a better understanding of the country’s public health issues and enable Armenia to be present on the international scientific stage.
Driving scientific medical research and finding partnerships for clinical trials can raise Armenia’s international profile and increase local expertise and access to new and often expensive treatments.
Santé Arménie created the French-Armenian Academic Research Organization in Yerevan, which was awarded a bronze Academic Research Center label by the Greater Paris University Hospitals in 2022. The aim of this center is to contribute to the development of scientific medical research in Armenia. Doing so will provide a better understanding of public health in Armenia and encourage Armenian doctors to participate in international registries and clinical research by making the most of French know-how in this field.
In 2023, Santé Arménie also set up a Biological Resource Center, which centralizes local biocollections and collaborates directly with the Research Center and a consortium of laboratories in Armenia. Collecting and conserving biological resources is an essential prerequisite for scientific research.
